65% of gambling halls in the Basque Country choose facial biometrics to prevent access by underage people

More and more Spanish Autonomous Communities are approving regulations restricting access to gaming halls to underage people and players voluntarily registered in the General Registry of Gambling Interdictions. For this reason, operators must invest in security and access control systems that allow them to comply with this regulation.

The use of facial biometrics is becoming the standard to comply with this new regulation, and in the Basque Country, dasGate is the preferred solution for access to gambling halls. dasGate offers the sector an identity and access platform that verifies the identity of the person and the integrity of their identity document and allows them to enter the gaming hall with their face. All this is done by previously checking against the register of interdicts. With this solution, gaming halls can control access unassisted and offer the best experience to customers, who access the gaming hall in a very comfortable and agile way.

For all these reasons, dasGate systems have been implemented in more than 65% of the gambling halls in the Basque Country. Since November 2022, more than half a million accesses have been carried out without incident, preventing prohibited persons, self-prohibited persons, and minors from entering a gaming hall. In this way, the company has become the undisputed leader in the sector.

"We are a group with experience in other sectors, such as banking or online gaming, and this has made us experts in detecting fraudulent documents and identity theft, always complying with current regulations. In addition, we have the necessary approval in all those Autonomous Communities that require it," says Fermín Sagaseta de Ilurdoz, Sales Manager at the company.
