More than 3,500 members of C.D. Amaya choose facial biometrics access

C.D. Amaya discovered facial biometrics thanks to the experience of other sports entities such as Club Tenis Pamplona or C.A. Osasuna and decided to go for it by implementing 12 facial recognition terminals at different access points to its facilities: the main entrance, the summer gate by car, the gym and the spa.

As a result, in six weeks, the system was implemented. More than 3,500 members have voluntarily registered and now enjoy a more comfortable and secure access experience without the need to carry their membership card or QR code.

"To date, 40% of the members have accepted the system, and more people are joining daily. They are delighted with the system because recognizing them by their face makes them feel relevant within the organization."

The challenge: Offer a better experience and more convenient access to members

To date, C.D. Amaya members have had different ways to access the club; with their membership card, fingerprint, or QR code. However, these systems lead to bottlenecks and can be inconvenient for members.

"The footprint used to give problems, especially when leaving the pool or the gym. This system doesn't fail; you also feel safer because there are people who could sneak in".

For this reason, C.D. Amaya takes the step and bets on facial biometrics as an access system to its spaces.

"After the experience that we had been told about other clubs such as Tennis and San Juan, it prompted us to take that step towards facial recognition, and the truth is that it is being a very satisfactory experience, and the members are very happy with the club for having implemented it".

The solution: An access management system with facial biometrics

dasGate is a platform designed to optimize the management of all sports facility access, save costs and increase security simultaneously to offer greater convenience of access.

Thanks to dasGate, C.D. Amaya provides greater convenience and speed of access to all its members and has increased its security by ensuring that only those who have the right to do so have access to its spaces. In addition to streamlining management processes, freeing reception staff from having to control access and allowing them to dedicate time to other tasks.

"The user has an excellent access experience, especially the elderly; the machine almost greets them when they enter, and they feel important."

What is the discharge process?

The registration process could not be more straightforward. To start using the system, the member has to give his/her consent to the club to register him/her, using his/her photo stored in its database.

Consent can be given in two different ways: from a mobile device, through an email sent from C.D. Amaya, in which the member only has to click on a button, or at the club’s offices, with the help of the reception staff. The facial recognition terminal will recognize them, and the access turnstile will open automatically. All this in less than a second.

"I was discharged at the front desk in a moment, and as I approached the reader, it recognized my face. I thought it was amazing."

Fast and easy integration

This innovative system, 100% manufactured in Spain with in-house technology, has been integrated, installed, and commissioned for members in just 6 weeks. The system can be integrated with any club management and access control software.

In this case, the integration with the Resasport sports software allows centralizing all the access information in a single platform. In addition, the management with NR, the access control system present throughout the club, favors the installation of the terminals in different areas: the main entrance, the summer gate, the gym, and the spa, and is already working to install it in the access to the future climbing wall and testing for the paddle courts.

"For us, it was a very straightforward implementation. It was essential that Resasports, our management software, like NR, were integrated with dasGate's technology, and for us, that has been very straightforward."

Digital transformation and the best access experience for members

Thanks to dasGate, C.D Amaya provides greater convenience and faster access to all its members, and has increased its security by ensuring that only those entitled to access its spaces can do so. In addition to streamlining management processes, freeing reception staff from having to control access and allowing them to spend time on other tasks.

"The front desk staff can be to other issues. Because the system is so efficient, they don't have to be attentive to this task."

Pablo Navallas, C.D. Amaya Manager

The great communication work of the Club and its goalkeeping staff has allowed that, in a few weeks, more than 3,500 members have voluntarily signed up for the system, and it has become their preferred access option “the vast majority of our members are already opting for this system” highlights Pablo.

"It has never failed me; I walk in with my backpack, my hair wet, and I go with my goggles from the pool to the spa, to the gym with a ponytail and sweaty. It works amazing."
